About Jack Paolini

I am a self-taught photographer who is constantly striving for perfection, reading everything I can as a starting point but trying my own unique interpretation of everything I read. I have come up with, after many tries, a combination of three different chemicals to achieve my unique toning effect. I am always trying something new and exciting. I think the best way to learn is not only to read, but to come up with your own ideas.
I am a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. My photographs have been purchased by The Lankenau Hospital, Stonebridge Bank, Lindt Property Management, Union Meeting Corporate Center, Infinity Broadcasting Company, and many others. I have to date 33 awards.

NOTES PERTAINING TO JACK PAOLINI'S GELATIN SILVER PRINTS
All prints are produced individually, by me, in my darkroom and each print is therefore unique in nature. These prints are not just prints off an inject printer that can be churned out in great quantities at the press of a button, which makes them, by nature, of very low value. My hand-made prints are made on top-quality Ilford photographic paper. These Ilford papers have been tested and proven over the passage of time to have museum standard archival quality. All prints are toned in either a thiocarbamide or selenium toner and fixed for true permanence. To sum up, this is a true darkroom hand-produced black and white photograph, made in the traditional way, as black and white images have been made over the last 100 years.
